 About Maidwellway

Hello from the beautiful town of Grimsby.  My name is Aimee, i'm a mum to a beautiful little girl and wife to a supportive hubby.  After 15 years working the public sector, supporting project work with children and families the passion for my job started to fizzle out.  After a big change in my family life it became clear to me that the 9-5 was not bringing me happiness.  What did bring me happiness is being proactive in my local town, doing something that supports and empowers mums and helps mums and mums to be feel as amazing as I know they are. This formed the starting foundations of me creating Maidwellway. 

From my personal experience, and talking to local mums it became clear that in my home town there was a lack of an offer for mums to access quality, stylish and comfortable clothing and accessories when pregnant, breastfeeding and in those early months of bodies changing once baby arrives. Grimsby is known world wide for our growing work around sustainable energy and green businesses, so it made sense where I can, in my business i'd aim to use other suppliers who work in ethical and sustainable ways. What has grown in the fist few months is me being able to create something a little bit special for mums.  The majority of the offer at Maidwellway is exclusive to us, meaning you won't be able to find what we have elsewhere in the UK. We've also been able to team up with some great bigger suppliers who create amazing, high quality products for mums to be and new mums.  This is really important to me, because I have learned over the years that quality is much better than quantity when it comes to look after ourselves as mums, our bodies and wearing clothes that are made for our changing bodies.  

It is my dream to one day have a shop in my home town, Grimsby. I'd love to have a flexible space where not only can mums come to shop, but we create a sense of community, run group sessions and offer the space up for mum and baby groups to use. I want to create something really special, because I really do believe in Mums. 

Happy, healthy, empowered and supported mums go on to nurture children who themselves can become happy, healthy and empowered people.
